Wakoucha, Organic
Organic Wakoucha is a stunning demonstration of rare Japanese black tea, crafted entirely from organically grown leaf grown in the southwest region of Shizuoka Prefecture. From a family has been practicing organic farming for nearly 50 years and is widely respected for their role in agrochemical-free tea cultivation in Shizuoka. When brewed, this Wakoucha reveals a clean amber-red hue. The aroma is sweet and floral, with notes of honey, while the flavor delivers a prominent malty sweetness complemented by hints of chrysanthemum and stone fruit. Because Wakoucha is best made from the summer harvest—when tea plants are most vulnerable to pests—organic production is especially challenging, making this tea a truly limited and special offering.
Flavor Profile: Malty sweetness with notes of chrysanthemum and a hint of stone fruit with a lingering floral finish.
