One of the absolute best Chinese green teas, Dragon Well is beloved by both lifelong tea lovers and those just beginning to explore the world of loose leaf tea. Dragon Well is heady and aromatic, rich on the tongue, with a smooth and slightly sweet finish.

Origins: Being such a long-loved tea, the legends surrounding Dragon Well are legion. While the process of making tea in the West Lake region from which Dragon Well comes dates back over 1,500 years, the actual name (Longjing) first appears in lists of top Chinese teas in the 1300s. For centuries, Dragon Well was given as tribute to Emperors.

Flavor Profile: Nutty and vegetal, rich with a sweet finish.

    I love this green tea because unlike cheaper varieties from the supermarket, this tea is smooth and not at all bitter. Warming and mellow, t's just right.

    Made as a cold brew, it is a delicious and clean green tea without any of the grassy flavor you sometimes find.

    I'm relatively new to green tea, and i decided to try this Dragonwell AKA longjing. It's excellent! I've brewed it both gongfu style in a gaiwan and western style using a mesh strainer and both were excellent. It's clean, nutty, and free of any bitter notes.
