For those who drink antioxident rich yerba mate in the classic way, the Calabash mate gourd is the right vessel. Hand carved in South America, and with the rough edges covered with an aluminum rim. Traditionally, yerba mate is place inside the gourd, and water keeps getting pouring over the leaves. Over time, since the gourd is never washed, it develops a patina of flavor, so the yerba mate gourd is an individual experience. Because they are marbleized, each gourd is unique in design. Use with out Bombilla straw.
